To celebrate its 45th anniversary, our College organised Homecoming Day to share the joy with guests and alumni on 15 March 2026. It was started with a welcome speech and the prayer by the school supervisor, Sister Lucy Mary Chung. Following her was the speech from the Principal, Ms Mok Kit Yue. Members of the School Incorporated Management Committee, the Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association and the Chairperson of the Alumni Association were also in attendance to kick off the ceremony.

To make the ceremony more appealing and memorable, the School Choir and the Fencing Team had their live performances and their demonstrations were well-received. What united all attendees was the moment when the previous time capsule was unearthed. It was buried 10 years ago when the school was celebrating its 35th anniversary. Alumni who had contributed to the old time capsule were invited to witness this significant moment and share the joy of their past 10-year development. This joy was immediately followed by the burying of the new time capsule. Representatives from classes and different student organisations had their turns to put things memorable into the new time capsule and this also ended the opening ceremony harmoniously.

Apart from the time capsule, there were also other celebratory activities. In History Room, exhibits were displayed to tell the development of the school. Photos of graduates across all these years were also one of the focuses of the day. Meanwhile, there were game booths and the 45th anniversary souvenir sale and the proceeds of the sale will go to the installation of the LED screen in the hall.

When night fell, another highlight of the day was about to begin. It was the Poon Choi banquet hosted by Immaculate Heart of Mary Alumni Association. Sisters from the school sponsoring body, guests, teachers and alumni sat together around tables, savouring delicious food and chatting. There was nothing more satisfying to strengthen the bonds in a place that is so familiar with in the heart of every IHMCian.

The school motto, Love and Labour, has been passed on generation to generation. Please stay tuned as we are having some more celebrations to come.
